The True Sport Scorecard

True Sport Principles

True Sport is dedicated to the notion that good sport can make a great difference. For sport to be truly good and have the opportunity to make the greatest difference, all seven True Sport Principles need to be in play at all times, working in perfect balance and proportion with one another.

The True Sport Scorecard is a tool designed to provide sport associations, clubs or teams with a picture of how well they are living the True Sport Principles.

There is no "pass" or "fail" – the scorecard will simply indicate to what degree your members or stakeholders value each the True Sport Principles and how effectively they feel those principles are driving the sport experiences you offer.

How does the Scorecard work?

  1. Review the True Sport Principles.
  2. Contact the True Sport team to assign your group with a unique ID. This unique ID will allow results to be compiled from your members or stakeholders who complete the scorecard.
  3. Share the Scorecard with your members or stakeholders. Use the template provided from the True Sport team as your communication piece to get started.
  4. After the response deadline given to your members or stakeholders, review the scores. The result will provide a snapshot to what degree your members or stakeholders value each principle; as well, as how effectively they feel those principles are driving the sport experience you are offering.
  5. Discuss the results with your board members. Consider the gaps and identify possible solutions.
  6. Implement changes as needed. Ensure you keep the True Sport Principles at the heart of your sport organization!
