Since its inception, the Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba (CSCM) has been the hub for high performance sport in Manitoba. CSCM exists to provide support to current and aspiring Olympic and Paralympic athletes in training. True Sport helps communicate their deeply held belief that sport in Manitoba should be values based from playground to podium.  

The City of Winnipeg has a rich history in the provision of sport and recreation opportunities available to its residents. Community-based sport is woven into the fabric of every Canadian community and Winnipeg is no exception. Winnipeg’s commitment to True Sport is articulated in The Winnipeg Community Sport Policy as a policy priority for the development of education and training strategies.

Located in Winnipeg, the Louis Riel School Division’s (LRSD) mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment, where personal and collective learning are valued, and people reach their full potential. True Sport is a thriving concept within the school division and is brought to life with True Sport awards for coaches and students, student leadership training, and curriculum content. LRSD contributed immensely to the development of the Jr. True Sport Champions Program

 

The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) is the governing body for intercollegiate athletics in Manitoba. Its mission is to foster the development of the student-athlete through the administration and promotion of intercollegiate athletics as part of the education experience and to provide a leadership role in the development of sport in Manitoba. The MCAC uses the True Sport Principles to help create a welcoming environment for all involved.

 

The Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association (MHSAA) promotes the benefits of participation in high school sport by providing athletic and educational opportunities. The MHSAA utilizes True Sport as a guiding force in the development of school sport activities, which focus on lifelong physical, social, and emotional benefits for student-athletes.

The Manitoba Soccer Association (MSA) is the primary advocate and ambassador for the sport of soccer in Manitoba, and leads member organizations in providing efficient and comprehensive soccer programming across the province.  The MSA uses the True Sport Principles to guide their programming and create a welcoming sport environment for all. 

More than 500 educators were introduced to True Sport during the Physical and Health Educators of Manitoba’s annual Manitoba Teachers’ Society Professional Development Day in October 2020. Participants learned about the True Sport Principles and how to foster True Sport experiences within their schools. PHE Manitoba is looking to expand the number of True Sport schools across the province and to support them in their efforts to bring True Sport to life for all students and teachers.  

Recreation Manitoba (Rec MB) is a provincial not-for-profit organization committed to enhancing the health and well-being of individuals, communities, and places in Manitoba. They exist to share the passion and spirit of recreation with their integral role in building healthy active communities. As Manitoba’s voice for recreation, Rec MB is committed to the delivery of programs and resources in the spirit of True Sport.

Sport Manitoba is the leading planning, programming, and funding agency for the development of amateur sport in Manitoba. They have been stewards of True Sport within the province of Manitoba activating their commitment to True Sport through provincial Games, Canada Games, workshops and awards. They also launched the #NoRefNoGame social media campaign in 2020 to address the maltreatment of officials. 

The University of Manitoba is western Canada’s first university, established in 1877, and located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. It is Manitoba's only research-intensive university, and one of the country’s top research institutions. The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management supports True Sport through their academic and athletic programs and events.

The University of Winnipeg is a dynamic campus and a downtown hub that connects people from diverse cultures and nurtures global citizens. Their graduates value their educational experience, which focuses on small class sizes, academic excellence and a commitment to Indigenous inclusion. The Departments of Kinesiology and Applied Health and the Athletics are proud to be founding members of TSLHM. They continue to demonstrate their commitment to True Sport through on-campus signage, information sessions, promotion at athletic events, and community leadership.
The Winnipeg Newcomer Sport Academy delivers year–round multi-sport programs that focus on incorporating physical literacy and fundamental sport skills in quality sport programs. They work with newcomers to Winnipeg, Canada, with a focus on refugee youth and their families. Participants have opportunities to try new sports and participate in familiar sports in a developmentally appropriate and culturally safe environment. The Academy uses the True Sport Principles to guide and develop life skills throughout all aspects of the program including unique opportunities for community sport connections.
