Pronouns: she/her
Residence: Toronto, ON and Tiny, ON
Champion since: 2024
Occupation: Athlete, coach, engineer, and researcher
Current Involvement in Sport: I am a member of Athletics Canada’s national team as a long-distance runner. In 2023, I participated in three world championships: World Mountain and Trail Running Championships (Innsbruck and Stubai, Austria) in the Vertical Climb, World Athletics Championships (Budapest, Hungary) in the marathon, and World Road Running Championships (Riga, Latvia) in the half marathon.
I work as a coach-mentor in the Advanced Coaching Diploma helping coaches become the next group of individuals who will lead performers from the top of the playground to the world stage.
I also do research in sport as a Director for Community Engagement and knowledge translation. I’m working on a multi-year grant asking, “from coast to coast to coast, what could a reimagined equitable, diverse, and inclusive sport system look like?”
Why True Sport: Why not!? Knowing that sport creates lasting physical, emotional, social, and cultural benefits, how can I not believe in an approach to values-based sport that thinks holistically about how we can include everyone in sport? Emphasizing the last True Sport Principle, Give Back – when it’s all said and done, I want to leave sport in a better place than when I found it.
