Why True Sport: “It’s more than sport.” This statement has stuck with me and inspired me ever since the 2012 Paralypmic Games. Sport provides us with so many physical, psychological, and social benefits. No matter what level one chooses – be it for play, recreation, or competition – sport should offer a welcoming, inclusive, positive, and safe place to learn, grow, succeed, and, yes, to fail and try again. Through my work, I educate and advocate for inclusion, accessibility, and equal access for all. When guided by, supported by, and advocating for the True Sport Principles, I believe we can create a community that ensures the very best experiences and opportunities for athletes, families, volunteers, and coaches!
