Partners

The True Sport Foundation benefits from the active engagement of several partners, most notably:

Bell Canada

Bell Canada and True Sport share a belief that sport has the power to strengthen and connect communities. Like True Sport, Bell understands the importance of community volunteers to grass roots sport organizations across Canada and encourages their employees to participate in their communities in this capacity. Through their Community Investment Program and in partnership with True Sport, Bell recognizes the volunteer work of their employees and retirees by providing direct financial support to the community based sports groups with which they volunteer. Ontario Trillium Foundation

The Ontario Trillium Foundation has partnered with the True Sport Foundation on two occasions to facilitate the introduction and development of True Sport Community Animation in the province of Ontario. From November 2005 to October 2008, funds provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation allowed True Sport Animators to work throughout Eastern and Central-Near Northern Ontario to promote, establish and implement a variety of True Sport initiatives at the community level. Building on the success of the Phase 1 pilot  project, the True Sport Foundation was able to secure additional funds from OTF to further study the impact of True Sport at the community level. Through the Phase 2 project we will be providing  guided direction and support to numerous communities throughout Ontario as they develop their own sustainable True Sport initiatives.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Culture, receives annually $100 million in government funding generated through Ontario's charity casino initiative. For more information, please visit www.trilliumfoundation.org.

The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation

The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation and the True Sport Foundation share a commitment to the values of the True Sport Movement. Both parties believe that innovative sport and recreation initiatives have the potential not only to improve the health and well-being of individuals but also to foster leadership and social networks within and among communities. To support communities participating in sport, the True Sport Community Fund, a four year $2.5 million initiative, was created in 2007.

The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation is a private family foundation that seeks to improve quality of life by building communities that help people to develop their talents and contribute to the common good. For more information, please visit www.mcconnellfoundation.ca.
